FAQ

  • What is ART?

ART stands for Assisted Reproductive Technology. It’s an umbrella term that includes certain types of medical care to help someone get pregnant or have a baby. It specifically refers to the ones where the eggs or sperm are handled by medical staff, but the term ART is sometimes used more broadly than that. Types of ART you may have heard of include IVF, IUI, surrogacy, egg donor, sperm donor, even egg freezing.

  • Who uses ART?

TONS of people. Same-sex couples, independent/single parents, and people experiencing infertility are the main groups of people who pursue one or more types of ART. As many as 1 in 6 people worldwide have some type of infertility, and in 2023, about 95,860 babies were born in the US that were conceived using ART. That’s 2.6% of all US births. (Sources: ASRM, ASRM Press Release 4/23/25, “US IVF usage increases in 2023, leads to over 95,000 babies born”)

  • What is the difference between Reproductive Counseling and ART Consulting?

Reproductive Counseling is for the people going through the ART process. The patients. The intended-parents.

ART Consulting is for clinics and businesses.

  • Do you provide Genetic Counseling?

No, not at this time. I hope to in the future.

  • Where are you located?

I’m located in the Los Angeles, USA area. My area code and mailing address are Sacramento, CA based but that’s not where I physically am. I mostly work and see clients remotely (Zoom or similar platform), but if you’re in the LA area, I’d be happy to discuss meeting in person.

  • Do you only take clients in California or in the US?

I can take clients from anywhere, worldwide! This could potentially change in the future, depending on the services provided, but not anytime soon.
